What payment methods do you accept?

What should I expect during an in-home pet euthanasia appointment?
Most visits are 45–60 minutes. Some families want more time for goodbyes, keepsakes, or rituals—I’ll follow your pace as much as schedule allows.
-
Arrival & Conversation: We will review your wishes, and answer any questions you may have.
-
Sedation: A gentle sedative helps your pet relax and fall into a comfortable sleep.
-
Peaceful Passing: A final medication will be given to allow your pet to pass. This usually takes just minutes.
-
Keepsakes: Ink paw print and a lock of fur are included, if desired.
-
Aftercare: I coordinate cremation or respectfully leave your pet in your care, based on your choice.
Can my pet eat before the appointment?
Yes. Favorite foods and treats are welcome, and many families choose to offer a special meal or favorite snack before and during sedation as they are falling asleep. If your pet is very nauseous, having trouble swallowing, or at risk of biting, I may make different recommendations.
Will my pet feel pain during euthanasia?
The goal is always a peaceful, pain-free experience. A sedative is given first to help your pet become deeply relaxed and comfortable before the final medication is administered. Majority of pets do not notice the sedation being given, but some might complain about it for a second. Most pets simply fall asleep surrounded by the people and comforts they know.
Where in the home should we be?
Anywhere your pet feels safest and most comfortable—favorite bed, couch, sunny spot, or the backyard (weather‑permitting and private). Soft lighting, blankets, music, and treats are welcome. The area does need to be easy to assess and have enough room to allow Dr. Vivian to walk around your pet without difficulty.
What if my pet is anxious or is aggressive with strangers?
Please tell us in advance. We have low‑stress Fear-free approaches and can tailor sedation. Please note, there may be an additional fee of $225 for these special cases.
Can other pets be present?
Many families find it meaningful for household pets to say goodbye, which can help them understand the loss. All pets are welcome to be present. In order to keep other pets and everyone safe during the appointment. We ask pets who are potentially aggressive to be secured in a different area and say goodbye afterwards.
What happens to my pet afterward?
Aftercare is based on your wishes. I can coordinate private or communal cremation, or your pet may remain in your care if you prefer home burial where permitted.
How should we prepare for aftercare transport?
A family member’s assistance will be required for pets over 25lbs. Clear a pathway to the exit and Dr. Vivian will bring a soft stretcher.
For pets over 100 lb, we require assistance from two or three family members, or we can coordinate direct crematory pickup.
What is your cancellation policy?
I understand that plans can change. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule, so I can offer the appointment time to another family in need. A fee may apply for late cancellations or if significant travel has already begun or been completed. Please see the cancellation policy for more details.
